Rococo Nativity Scene in a Case

Description: This large handcrafted set was made in the Rococo style, and consists of 37 figures: 13 people and 24 animals. The figurines are hand carved from linden wood. The wooden statuettes are polychromatic and gilded with 23K gold. The figures depict dramatic scenes chosen from every-day life 2000 years ago. The wooden case is an outstanding example of intarsia, and is a woodcarving masterpiece.
